My short bio: What's up #vialators! This is Michael Carl Jude, the writer and creator of the first comedy series about pharmacists, technicians and interns as they fill vials for their sometimes vile customers. Ask me anything about the show.
My Proof:

Looking forward to this one big time, can't wait.
How difficult was it for the actors to really slip into understanding the mental bludgeoning that customer service people take, especially in this type of setting?
There was a pharmacist consultant on site to assist.
Pharmacy tech here.
One of the main frustrations about retail pharmacy is that people love to assume that we are like a fast food restaurant.
Amidst all the comedy and satire, which we are all looking forward to, will this show also breakdown the actual process of start to finish of a prescription and how many possible ways things can go wrong along the way? Because there are at least 50+ different things between the insurance, type of drug, and directions that can cause a delay, which we work to fix.
For all the non-pharmacy watchers, I'd love for them to be able to get an idea of what it's actually like back there so they can stop making assumptions and understand how it all works behind the counter. And to be a little kinder to us. We do our very best.
We will have an episode that has the process. We can't hit all the beats as it would be too long but it should get the point across.
Any advice for a Pharm D student in his first year? lol
Abandon all hope and begin drinking.
How many people on your staff have worked in a pharmacy?
Will your focus be on both the idiots coming to the pharmacy and the idiots working there as well?
The main writer (me) worked in the industry for a decade and I am still in contact with most of my former colleagues.
How will you handled the angry customers who watch the show and complain because they don't like the truth of how they are portrayed on the show???
Truth hurts. They will be ignored. lol
Who did you consult to get a feel of how the retail pharmacy environment? Also, who decided to cast the actor to play the intern?
My own experiences when i served my time and then speaking to plenty of people that stayed with it. The casting department.
Third year pharm student here! What inspired you to make a pharmacy show, and how is it going to compete against all the medical shows out there?
Most medical shows are drama. This is pure mature audience comedy.
what is the typical budget for an amazon prime show vs netflix -- is there anything amazon prime offered that tipped the scales for them instead of netflix?
It is more about royalties.
As someone who has worked retail for 10 years i am impressed that you got this to go through and make it work. That being said i am confused between the intern and student roles. What is the difference between the 2?
In every store I have ever worked students were not automatically given intern status. It may vary from state to state.
As a pharmacist who has dealt with my fair share of drug seekers, robberies, rude "customers" and bullshit corporate management, I also always tried to see things from my patients' point of view, educate them, treat them with compassion, and help them get the best outcomes from their medication. How do you plan to balance the cynicism and gallows humor with compassion for patients with lower health literacy asking "stupid" questions, or the chronic pain patient who is disabled and actually taking their drugs rather than selling them?
Yes. I am very sensitive to that. We have an episode about addiction and handle it with tact.
how'd you come up with the idea for this show? Also, how did you settle on the name too?
From my years working in pharmacy and speaking with a lot of pharmacists and techs. Went back an forth on a few names. My first title was "Techs" as I am a huge "Clerks" fan, but in the end it wasn't only about techs so I went with Vials.
who typically does the negotiation -- an agent, a lawyer, or someone specializing in negotiating specifically with tech companies -- are you in the room while this happens?
Attorney. We are not present.
Will any of the plots on the show be based on a very real situation (with identities changed of course)? The pharmacy is such a great place for scenarios of an unbelievable nature!
Well, anything on the show could have been real but i mean it is fiction isn't it?
