My short bio: Hi! I'm Andy Allo, an independent singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. I just released my third album "Hello" via crowdfunding (PledgeMusic). Ask me anything! I'll be answering from 12-2 Pacific.

Would you consider having a fan remix contest? I think a lot of fans would love the opportunity to remix a song of yours!
I think that's a great idea!!!! We're going to work on doing remixing to Tongue Tied.
What is it like working with Prince? I imagine that he's quite the perfectionist and it might be a little stressful!
Also, did you two ever get into a guitar jam session? I'd love to hear/see that! :-P
Working with Prince was incredible. He has very high standards and challenged me to be a better musician and songwriter. Some of my best memories are of us jamming on guitars, trading songs and harmonizing.
I'm transitioning to natural hair. Do you have any tips, style suggestions etc? I love your curls girl!
That's amazing! Yay! I'd say try not to shampoo your hair. It dries out hair and makes it break. Condition as much as possible and sometimes braiding can ease the transition unless you do the big chop! :)
If you close your eyes and think of your childhood, what food comes to mind?
Do you have a recipe for that food you could share with us?
Is there a specific story or memory associated with the food?
Hmmm So many! There's this meal called Corn Chaff that is a mix of beans, corn, vegetables and palm oil. It's so delicious! You can eat it with plantains. When I was little, for breakfast we would have fried plantains and scrambled eggs. Just the smell of it takes me back to my childhood.
In addition to knowing and practicing your craft what advice can you offer to younger, aspiring, naturally-gifted artists?
Definitely practicing is number one. Other than that, I would say, really taking the time to figure what you want to say and do with your gifts. If there wasn't fame, or money, what kind of art os music would make you really happy and start there.
Have you thought about doing an acoustic album? I think it would be amazing!
Yes! I would love to do an acoustic album. I think it's something I'm going to do eventually when it's least expected.. so I can give fans a different experience. :)
Sounds good - I found a recipe for it here and might attempt to make it later this week!
AWESOME!!! Don't forget to add some cray fish :-).
If you have an African food store, they should have some.
Tweet me a pic when you make it and let me know. I can't wait to see!!!
I have a totally random question haha. Ok so my mom's a huge Prince fan (from the For You days lol). So she swears that his eyes are light brown. I think they are green/hazel? Thought I would ask you for the answer haha. Either way he's a beautiful man :)
I think they're closer to hazel with hints of brown.
What happens when two "Hopeless Romantics" meet each other?
They both fall hopelessly in love. :P
Hello Allo, do you play any video games? If so, which ones? Also, check out my acoustic vid sometime, I think you'd like it!
Yes! I love video games that a little simpler. My favorite is Doom and Mortal Kombat.
Beautiful playing by the way! Thank you for sharing.
Will you get your sister to write some lyrics for you? Songwriting duo?
Haha Yes! I'm also going to have her join me on stage so we can sing like we used to when we were little. We'll definitely be doing some writing together.
Thanks girl for the tips. Yes it's a process balancing the two hair textures so yep I have my Marley twists in now lol :)
Stay strong! It's totally worth it. Keep me posted on social media.
Sweet, you have to play the new Mortal Kombat then! Thanks!
Ohh yes I saw an ad about that!! I will! :)
Hey Andy! I'm a huge fan<3 Have you ever considered writing a book on your music career and experience(s) with Prince?
I think I'll write a book about my life once I've done a little more so it's more of a complete picture of where I came from and everything I've experienced.
Who did you see at your first concert? When & where?
My first ever concert was Alicia Keys in Sacramento.
Any plans for music vids of the new songs? Would love a dramatic vid for Don't Ever Say. Also any future collabs in mind? Would love to see you with Lenny Kravitz rockin out :)
I'm filming a video for Tongue Tied in the next week. Very excited about it! And we're working on doing videos for some of the other songs including Don't Ever Say. :D
I would LOVE to jam with Lenny. I'm sure it'll happen one day.
Hi Andy, I discovered you and your music during the AMAZING Prince concerts in Ghent, in 2011. Awesome memories!
My question: what's it like to be on stage with Prince? Is it as spontaneous as it seems or is everything carefully rehearsed? Or a bit of both, maybe? :)
Keep it up, I love your work!
Those were great times! Being on stage with Prince was always amazing. We were rehearsed but there were times when we'd have to watch him just incase he decided to change something in the moment. You always had to be prepared for anything.
Thank you for the support!! :-D
I've seen yo
u in Paris, do u plan coming back ?
Cool. I'm working on a Europe tour later this year. I'll be coming back!
Hi Andy! Longtime fan here! What was it like working on your first TV pilot in Toronto earlier this year?
Hi!!! Thank you! It was incredible. I had a blast and can't wait to do more tv! Being an actress is so much fun and such a challenge. I love it!
It seems like you but brought new life to the NPG and Prince when you joined. I'm a believer in soulmates. I really think you're music and perhaps life soulmates. I can't listen to Art Official Age without thinking of you and your influence. Are there any plans for you to collab again? Would be amazing to see two amazing souls performing together with your Afros! PS sorry for all the questions lol and thanks for taking time to do this q & a with your fans :)
Thank you. It was an honor to be a part of the NPG, AOA and work so closely with Prince. We created a lot of great music together and I'm excited to see where our musical journeys take us. Perhaps one day, we will perform some of the songs we did together.
You're just everywhere, it seems! I've seen you in ads for Wells Fargo, Dunkin Donuts, and I think there's an Xfinity one too. After wrapping your Warrior pilot in Toronto (I'm sorry it wasn't picked up during upfronts, would have loved to see it!), do you have your sights set on more work as an actor or musician?
I'm everywhere lol. With the new EP, I'm going to continue touring and writing new music too. I definitely have my sights on doing more acting. Ideally I'd like to combine the two acting on something that incorporates my music.
You looked so nice and gentle and funny and I would have loved to talk with you, unfortunatly I have health prob so I had to leave b4 the end of the show.
It's a great idea to come over here to chat with us, thanks for that !
You're welcome! Thanks for asking me questions. Hopefully I'll get to meet you at the next show! :)
What would you like your international audience to know about your home country? How do you see the intersection of your experiences in Cameroon and the U.S. impacting your work?
I would like them to listen to some of the music that comes from Cameroon and try some of the food from there. It's soo good! Musically, there are moments now, when some of the percussive elements and sounds creep in to what I do now but I can't wait to incorporate more of the African/Cameroonian rhythms and styles in my music.
Would you be intersted by seeing the clothes I designed ? I currently am an artist and decided to include my work in merchendising
I would be honored to show you
Sure! Feel free to send a message on Facebook and we'll reach out.
Where was the best place you've performed live so far and why? I went to see you when you played in London!
Yay!! I can't forget the first time I played on a main festival stage as a solo act. It was at Couleur Café and it was almost 40-50,000 people. EPIC Experience. Really excited about coming back to London and play the new music!
