First and foremost thank you for you service fine sir. You are a braver man than most. My question for you is... Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl this weekend? :)
Thanks for your service! It will be a good game, but between Beast Mode and The Legion of Boom, I can't see Seattle losing. They need to avoid turnovers though!
Hi Wes, thanks for doing this. What would it take for you to run for Mayor of Baltimore?
Ha! I love my city and I am loving running
My name is Lloyd Turner. Your last name Moore....Are you related to Julianne Moore? She's a fine actress, you know.
She's a great actress, don't think we are related. Never know though!
Hi Wes, can you share what the catalyst was that drove you to find your work and why you think it's difficult for so many young people to get to that point? thanks!
I think I was driven by a passion to add value. I wanted to be great at what I did. And I realized I could never be great at something that I did not care deeply about. In order to be great, you must delve into that thing that truly makes you passionate. When that thing intersects with one of the worlds greatest needs, that is your work.
Hey Wes student from ECU, saw you speak here...anyways my question, what is your favorite thing about being an author?
I think being an author is the worlds best way to have an uninterrupted conversation. To share your thoughts without time constraints. I love being able to use stories to promote action.
What is the most common misconception of Muslim extremists?
Good question and it is that all of them are brought in solely because of religion. For many, a broken interpretation of the religion is used for final justification, but it is social situations that allow extremist ideologies to gain a footing.
Hi Wes. I am a realtivly new transplant to Baltimore. What is your favorite thing to do in the city and one thing you would like to see the city have?
First, welcome to our great city! There are so many attractions, but definitely stop by the American Visionary Art Museum in Federal Hill, grab some crabs at Cantons Dockside, check out a show at Center Stage, stop by Terra Cafe for breakfast, and go see the beautiful architecture in Bolton Hill. I would love to see the city have a comprehensive, citywide transit improvement strategy, regardless of the future of the Red Line.
Hi Wes! Thanks for your service! What is your recipe for discipline in your everyday life?
Thanks for your service! I think my discipline stems from the fact that I realize we have but so many hours in a day and I would rather not waste them. I wake up every morning excited about the day ahead, and if I am not clear about how to approach it, time, that I will never get back, can fade quickly.
How is life as an American soldier?
Thanks for asking this question, and there definitely is not a single answer to this. Much of the answer depends on your job, your assignment, your deployment history, etc. But regardless, you live your life with a sense of mission underlying everything you do. I loved my time as a soldier, it helped to make me the man I am today.
Hi Wes,
When I think about leadership, i think about inspiring others, sustaining a vision for other to follow, and developing credibility. What are some unique qualities or concepts that make for good leaders?.. In Baltimore, I develop leadership training sessions with proven leaders who offer their insights about leadership, (our next speaker is Kurt Schmoke). Would you be interested in participating?
Thanks! Love the show!
Bless you and thanks for your work! Would love to be helpful. My email is wesm@bridgeedu.com.
Thanks Wes! Can you tell me what you think is the most important factor in finding your work? for example, do you think its education? parents? who you surround yourself with?
Great question, and I think your truest work is the thing that not only gives you the most joy, but you know is easing a pain in our world. People finding their work is about finding what it means to come alive in their own worlds. Doing things they love, that are also good.
I really admire your work! What activities do engage in regularly to stay healthy and sane?
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. I love boxing and running. Those are the workouts that both get me going and best clear my mind.
