I live in NYC. Currently filming "Manhattan Love Story" on ABC. I have a dog, named Tomahawk. I carry my camera with me everywhere. I remember my camera before I remember what day it is.
Thank you everyone for your questions! That was great to be able to respond personally--great questions all around. Signing out :)

Hi Analeigh.
Love you and your work =)
Do you miss competitive skating?
What's the most difficult jump you were able to do?
Thanks for the AMA
Of course--thanks for the question! I miss it all the time. Not the actual competition--I miss the quiet moments on the ice and night when I could put my own music on and just...skate. Jumping was not my strong suit. On a good day, a few triples here and there. Spins were my stronger area. Being tall--not great for the physics of skating.
Loved Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Any great behind the scenes stories from filming? I would imagine that Steve Carrell & Emma Stone would be fun to work with. Thanks!
They were fantastic to work with! Emma and I came up with a snack we became obsessed with for a beat. We took Pirate's Booty and Poppycock (I ..spelling on that?) popcorn and created Pirate--....you get it.
Hi Analeigh, thanks for the AMA! I know it's a tough one to measure, but roughly how often do you smize on a daily basis?
My face--it just doesn't--it really--I can't. I tried for awhile. I can't haha.
Would you recommend young girls to go to America's Next Top Model? Are you glad you did?
It really depends on what that girl might be looking to do in her career. Especially now, given the influence of reality TV on one's future (or potentially lack there of). I'd say--it's a big decision to make young but if she goes into looking for a fun experience and she's healthy, happy and strong--an experience she can have.
Im my situation, I've been glad and I've been on the border. Overall, I'm very grateful.
You were great in Warm Bodies, is John Malkovich as intimidating as he seams?
absolutely not. He's the kindest man. Holding a gun to such a soft spoken, intelligent person--that's intimidating any way you do it.
What is it like working on such a show? And how is it like knowing your working for such a major company
This is the greatest environment to work on. I've been lucky in my career thus far with that. Working on a network show I thought for sure I'd be pushing my luck but, Manhattan Love Story has ended up being one of the most creative and collaborative jobs I've done. I even pitched an episode that they made! Thanks for the question!

Thanks for submitting your question! I wish someone in LA had told me, in my opinion the most obvious advice, as well as the least shared secret--be yourself. You walk into an audition and they say be the character on the page but you're walking into a room of people who usually look and sound just like you--but only your "-isms" and your own experiences can truly make something come alive. People will push back on that idea--there also has to be an ability to take that and work with a director or casting director to shape it into something collaborative but...take YOU. Bring yourself. You're the only one in the world with that.
Hey Analeigh! You were really funny on Hung. My question is, what is an often overlooked survival skill for making it through a zombie apocalypse?
I'd throw a punch of puns at them. Confuse 'em.
This is why, I hope to never be a zombie apocalypse. If you find me, I wouldn't depend on me at all.
What do you like most about working on Manhattan Love Story?
The crew and cast. They make me excited to come to set everyday. And how much we get to be creative on a daily basis. It's rare. We get to write music featured in the show, we get to film mini movies and post them on our social media, pitch episodes that are actually made--it's a playground.
What was working with Scarlett Johansson like?
She's rad. She's a tomboy like myself and it was instantly easy to be around. You never know--get to set and have to play someone's best friend--always nice when you actually find the person easy to be with off camera.
I loved you on ANTM! I was always struck by how pretty your first name is. Do you know why/how your parents chose it?
Ah! I've given them so much backlash for my name. It's so damn difficult to pronounce correctly. "the weight" by the Band. Some of the reason is in those lyrics but mine is pronounced "awna-lee" instead of "anna-lee" But thank you! I love it despite that. I'll pass it on to the folks :)
hey analeigh, i'm really enjoying mahattan love story, i was wondering what the last really good movie you saw was?
Thank you! I haven't seen many movies lately because of our schedule but I did re-watch Fantastic Mr. Fox and that movie never gets old for me.
Hi Analeigh! My name is Kirsten and we went to high school together - actually, you were my Junior year Kairos leader. I just wanted to say congratulations on all your success, it's been really exciting to watch! I saw you were doing an AMA so I made this account really quick to say hi. But I guess I should ask you a question - uh, what's next for you? I feel like you'll be doing big things!
That's so cool!!! What? Wow. That was such a lovely experience. Hi! Er next? Still working on the show and i've got two films yet to come out then, just more scripts and prepping for the next project :) I'll be in NY for awhile either way. Thanks Kristen! Of course I know who you are :)
What's a weird talent you have that no one really knows about?
Ah--I...huh. I took courses at MIT during my off time studying Quantum Field Theory.
Which do you prefer to work in-- TV or film and why?
It's interesting--the two have so much spill over now. This is really my first time experiencing the beast of TV and all that goes into it. I believe it all has to do with who you're working with and how much of an effort you want to put forward to make it something worth anything--personally and to an audience. I've been on film sets that I've felt more stifled than I ever have on the set of Manhattan Love Story. Actors crave constant change, often, and I can relate to that. But thus far, every week has been a new adventure. Thank you for your question!
CSL is my shiz, yo. What does your favorite breakfast consist of?
bacon. Straight up. And some coffee. :)
What's your favorite role that you've played so far?
Megan--Two Night Stand. Now playing Dana, both of those I've loved (love).
I assume you've travelled alot for work, where is your favorite place you've been?
That's one of the greatest parts I think. I love to travel. If I wasn't acting I'd be a traveling photographer--if I had the means and skill that is. For "Lucy" I filmed in Paris and then Taiwan. That was amazing. I had never been anywhere in Asia before and I can't wait to go back. I backpacked Iceland on my own, and hopefully will do Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar this winter. Maybe film something while I'm abroad. I like to take work with me :)
How come you aren't trying to shove some new movie or something down our throats like all the other AMA's?.
Are you a secret lurker?.
Haha, well...if you like what I have to say hopefully I wouldn't have to. It's rare to be able to speak for myself in such a situation. My voice is more often dictated by someone else who's never met me and has their own edge to my perspective. It's refreshing, here.
You ever seen a snail play the maracas before ?.
Every Saturday.
Is Whit Stillman as witty in real life as his scripts are? P.S. Really enjoyed you in 'Damsels In Distress'.
Whit Stillman is a character--his wit is maybe unknown to himself. He writes, in a way, how he see's the world. And his perspective happens to be beautifully unique. He speaks how he writes--which is great to hear, tricky to act.
A proud Minnesotan I hear? THX for representing. Your performances are always solid and loved you in Warm Bodies. If you had to recommend a good class in LA for tv acting, any suggestions?
Find Jonathan Slavin. :)
Hey Analeigh! Thanks for the link from twitter:)) I love the chemistry you bring to the D&P dynamic; makes my viewer heart soar! I'm an aspiring model and I wanted to ask you if it is all together worth? and what was that like for you?
Thank you! Is all of it worth it--it depends where your worth is I guess? My worth is in adventure, and being able to create as much as possible--but that can be anywhere to making music in on a floor living out of a suitcase or traveling around taking photo's of different cultural perspectives. Or writing children's books and finding artists to collaborate with. If any fame or expectation is involved with the desire to be in the entrainment business--than no, it's probably not going to be worth it (at least for me?) but that's all relevant.
What's your favorite ride at Disney?
teacups. No! space mountain. No!...yeah--no--Peter Pan!
What inspires you?
Getting as close to experiencing someone else's reality as possible. Be it through story or art...people and how they build their moments, why and from what experiences. Capturing those moments...any of that make sense? It's probably more complex than that. I should think of a shorthand version. To be continued.
So you say you carry your camera everywhere (is that a Leica M?)- what's your favorite thing to photograph? Do you have a flickr or 500px account for all those lovely photos?
Leica M240. I've been meaning to get a flikr. Hopefully in the next month or so I'll have a beat to get that set up. I usually post my leica photos on my Instagram. My favorite think to photograph--street photography. Unfortunately fans on instagram don't usually show much interest in pictures of strangers in cool settings. Very understandable. Thus the desire for another outlet.
Hi. What's TV shows do you like to watch?
Louis is my favorite. And friends. They're very different, yes, but two shows I can watch anywhere anytime and feel content with the world.
Are you a gamer? If so, what's your console of choice? ;D
...Sega? I've been told I need to get into gaming given my love for LARPing and D&D. Skyrim-- I've been told to get on that.
I would appreciate it if you might be willing to thank Jeff Lowell for creating MLS, please<33 the question: Do you think you would you ever respond well to the "shock and awe" move?
Haha I will in deed! I--would probably fall of my chair in a similar fashion. Thanks for the question :)
Dane Cook is doing a reddit AMA at 2pm. What question would you throw at him? I'll make sure he gets it.
Would he consider going as a Great Dane for Halloween.
(Worst joke ever. Except I truly love great danes)
